Slack

BIU sends action and result notifications to the Slack channel your team already works in — so new opportunities and outcomes reach you without checking the dashboard.

What data flows

Exactly what BIU reads or writes for this connection — so you can judge the data exchange before you connect, not after.

  • Writes: notifications about new actions, approvals needed, and recorded results.
  • BIU posts only to the channel you choose, with the content you configure.
  • No message history or private conversations are read from your workspace.
  • Notifications are opt-in per event type so the channel stays signal, not noise.

Permissions you grant

The access this connection requests — scoped, and revocable whenever you choose.

  • Permission to post messages to the specific channel you select.
  • BIU does not read your team's message history or private channels.
  • You choose which events notify, and can revoke posting access any time.

How to connect

A short setup — most of the value comes from analyzing your site first, then connecting to sharpen it.

  1. 1

    Connect a Slack channel

    You authorize

Authorize BIU to post to a single channel you choose — typically a growth or marketing channel your team already watches.

  2. 2

    Choose what notifies

    In BIU

Pick the events worth a ping — new high-priority actions, approvals needed, or a recorded result — so the channel stays useful.

  3. 3

    Act from where you work

    Ongoing

BIU posts a concise notification with a link back into the action. You review and approve in BIU; Slack is the heads-up, not the approval surface.

Sync cadence

Notifications post in near real time as events occur — a new high-priority action, an approval request, or a recorded result — based on the event types you enable.

Actions this unlocks

What connecting adds to your queue — sharper ranking, attribution, or new kinds of Growth Action.

  • Action and approval notifications delivered where your team already works.
  • Result notifications so a recorded outcome is visible without opening the dashboard.
  • Configurable per-event alerts that keep the channel high-signal.

Privacy and data handling

BIU posts notifications to the one channel you authorize and does not read your team's message history or private channels. You control which events notify and can revoke posting access from Slack at any time.

Troubleshooting

The most common setup snags and how to clear them.

Notifications aren't arriving.

Confirm BIU is still a member of the channel and that the relevant event types are enabled. Re-authorize the channel if it was removed.

There's too much noise.

Trim the enabled event types to just the ones that need a real-time ping — for example, only high-priority actions and recorded results.

Integrations are optional — BIU starts from your URL alone, and connecting only sharpens ranking and attribution. See pricing for what each plan includes.

Slack — questions

Can I approve actions from Slack?

Slack is the heads-up, not the approval surface. Notifications link back into BIU, where you review and approve — keeping a single, auditable approval gate.

Does BIU read our Slack messages?

No. BIU posts to the channel you authorize and does not read your message history or private channels.

Can I control which events notify?

Yes. You enable specific event types — new actions, approvals needed, recorded results — so the channel stays high-signal, and you can revoke access any time.
